The book is a section III of the Oil Pollution Manual prepared by the IMO Marine Environment Protection Committee. It is devoted to the issues of emergency rescue of ships and cargo in case of oil pollution. The book examines the main aspects related to effective mitigation of the consequences of oil accidents, including the need for resources to respond quickly. It is also emphasized that not only tankers, but also other types of vessels can pose a threat of oil pollution due to significant fuel reserves. The book is intended to help administrations and officials manage the consequences of oil pollution accidents and improve preparedness for such incidents.
