A record book of engine parameters is required by Marine Protection Rules Part 199, if an engine’s technical file states the engine’s compliance with the NOx emission limits must be tested using the ‘Engine parameter check method’. Not all technical files include a format for the record book.
You can use this template for a ‘Record Book of Engine parameters’ to record all parameter changes, including components and engine settings which may influence the NOx emission of an engine. You can amend the fields to reflect the engine’s specific components and settings.
Record book of engine parameters consists of sections:
I. Record of changes to engine components
1. Replaced date
2. Component name
3. Old item, ID number
4. New item ID number
5. Manufacturer

7. Comments
II. Record of changes to engine settings
1. Date of adjustment
2. Parameter
3. Original setting
4. New setting
