The editors and publishers of Jane’s Fighting Ships of World War I wish to state that, in reproducing pictures and typematter from wartime editions of Jane’s All the World’s Ships they have done their best to ensure the retention of as much of the original detail of the material as possible. They are aware, however, that some of the original pictures are of poor quality, but since no others are available these have been included in the interests of completeness.
To provide readers with the most comprehensive record of the ships that fought in World War 1 the compiler of Jane’s Fighting Ships of World Ward, John Moore, has supplemented the 1919 material by extracting entries on significant ships from the 1914 edition.
