General questions of ship design are presented in many books published by various authors. The sphere of the design of high-speed monohull ferries described in articles of the technical magazines and some textbooks, but is fragmented. The data which are published by different towing tanks complete the picture, but this information needs to systematize.
Some publications are difficult to access. This book is necessary, because it summarizes the accumulated experience and includes new information that may be used in the design of not only large monohull fast ferries, but also for the creation of small vessels.
The book includes part of the lectures, which were taught by the author at the West Pomeranian University of Technology (Poland) and Ecole Centrale Nantes (France), in the framework of the program EMSHIP.
